Chris Ponce
Chris Ponce, Esq. was born and raised in West Texas. In 2006 he enlisted in the United States Army, where he served in a combat aviation brigade on one tour in Iraq from 2007-2008. After being awarded a scholarship, he left active duty military to pursue higher education.
In 2011, Chris graduated from Colorado Christian University with a bachelor’s degree in English. He then began attending law school at the University of Wyoming College of Law and simultaneously became a commissioned officer in the Wyoming Army National guard. Mr. Ponce graduated law school in 2014, passed the bar exam immediately thereafter, and began working as a prosecuting attorney for the 19th Judicial District Attorney’s Office in Greeley, Colorado. There, he handled the gamut of criminal cases, including domestic violence, gang cases, drug cases, homicides, and vehicular crimes.
Chris was honorably discharged in 2018 from the national guard at the rank of captain. In 2020, he transferred from Greeley to the 1st Judicial District Attorney’s Office in Golden, Colorado to continue work as a prosecuting attorney representing the People of the State of Colorado. In 2021, he left the District Attorney’s office and entered private practice to work at the Law Firm of Hampton and Pigott, LLP, where he crafted a niche area of practice in criminal defense and civil rights litigation.
After three years at H&P, he began his work as Of Counsel at the Paul Wilkinson Law Firm, focusing on complex criminal defense matters and civil Plaintiff’s litigation.
